Supplements are not really a big thing for me.

I don’t use many, and I don’t recommend many either. While they can be quite useful for specific deficiencies, a good diet with plenty of sun exposure and exercise will eliminate the use of most of them. It has been my experience that they don’t do all that much as well.

All that said, I do think there are four that can be really valuable for most people. Some people respond great to one or more and other don’t respond well to any. Thankfully, they are all pretty cheap and worth an experiment if you are so inclined.

Fish Oil is the first supplement I recommend. It is great for balancing fatty acids in the body and is highly anti-inflammatory. I usually recommend 5g daily for most people.

Greens+ is a great green drink that I do see results with. I usually have much clearer skin when I use this daily, and it is a great way to get some extra veggies in your diet. One serving per day is great for me.

Natural Calm is a magnesium supplement that is great for calming nerves and relaxing. It is also great for keeping regular. Start with a pinch in some warm water and taper up to 1 tsp daily. Too much too soon will cause very loose stools.

Vitamin D is a wonder vitamin. It is highly anti-inflammatory and low levels are linked with all sorts of diseases ranging from asthma to cancer. If you are not getting a minimum of 20 minutes of good sun exposure, supplement with Vit D. For most people 2,000-5,000 IUs daily is good.

I’ve put links to my favorite brands, but all of these can be purchased in most grocery stores. The brand names might be different, but the product is the same. Controlling quality can be pretty tough, but do your best to get the best quality you can.
